Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about NurseCredential, nurse identity, credential verification, employer relationships, data, and privacy.
Can a nurse use NurseCredential without an employer?
Yes. The platform is designed so a nurse can maintain a professional profile independently and later connect with employers or staffing organizations.
Who controls nurse-to-organization association?
Associations are designed to be governed and approval-based. A nurse can request a relationship with an organization, or an organization can request to associate a nurse; the workflow should require the appropriate approval before the relationship becomes active.
Where does verified credential information come from?
The Nurse Credential Exchange is designed to ingest and normalize authoritative external sources such as state credential rosters and other trusted verification data.
Can nurse-reported data overwrite state-board data?
No. Provenance is a core architectural principle. Nurse-reported information can be preserved without replacing authoritative board evidence.
What happens when a credential changes?
The architecture supports change events, credential versioning, wallet updates, notifications, and nurse re-verification where appropriate.
